Organisation - Business UnitsInfrastructure and Industry DevelopmentThe Infrastructure and Industry Development Division supports the development of experiential tourism products and services that will help build our competitive advantage, attract visitors to the state, and exceed visitor expectations. The main focus areas are industry development, business and product development and destination development. The unit has two strategic elements: Insights and Destination Development, and Infrastructure and Investment. Insights and Destination DevelopmentThe Insights and Destination Development unit develops partnerships to deliver infrastructure that supports tourism in Tasmania. This development covers many areas – Regional development, Industry Sector development and Experience development. For example, this includes helping provide better access to tourism attractions. Head of Insights and Destination Promotion Infrastructure and InvestmentThe Infrastructure and Investment unit assists in the creation of new tourism infrastructure that adds to the beautiful natural surroundings and/or rich heritage our visitors have come to enjoy. To achieve this, Tourism Tasmania is working with the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania to develop a long-term tourism infrastructure plan as an important part of the Tourism 21 planning process. The unit proactively identifies future tourism infrastructure needs and opportunities, and provides expert resources to further develop this capability. Importantly, the unit is also helping create a smoother pathway through government for potential investors. Head of Infrastructure and Investment ContactClaire Ellis
