Your tourism business may be a candidate for funding or a grant. The following organisations offer grants and funding to assist tourism developments both at a State and Commonwealth level:

Tasmanian Business Development Programs and Services

This provides access to the current list of Economic Department programs available.

Australian Business Gateway – Grants and Assistance Programs

Grants and other funding programs are available from the federal, state and territory governments and in some cases from local councils. Generally there are no grants available for starting a business. However, there are grants and other assistance available for business activities such as expanding your business, research and development, innovation and exporting.

Regional Development Australia

Regional Development Australia (RDA) replaces the national network of Area Consultative Committees (ACCs).

Tqual Grant Scheme

Australian Government funded Tqual Grants are an $8.5 million competitive grants program to promote strategic investment in quality and innovation in the Australian tourism industry. Tqual Grants will support initiatives that develop innovative product, services or systems within the tourism industry, contribute directly to long-term economic development in the host region or develop or support high quality visitor services and experiences.

Tasmanian Community Fund

This fund provides grants to community organisations that make a difference by enhancing well-being and improving social, environmental and economic outcomes for the Tasmanian Community. The Board conducts both general and targeted programs.

Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal

The FRRR works to strengthen the economic and social strength of Australia’s regional, rural and remote communities through partnerships with the private and public sectors. The grants program offers support to small rural Australian communities.

Tasmanian Regional  Event Development Program (TRED)

This grant is available to Tasmanian-based event organisers, running  events in Tasmania. Grants of up to $5,000 are available. To qualify for  funding, events must be able to demonstrate the ability to attract either  international, interstate and/or intrastate visitors, as well as deliver  regional tourism benefits.

National  Championship Incentive

This  Events Tasmania grant assists organisations, businesses, clubs and associations  who secure a national championship to be staged in Tasmania.

Special  Event Incentive

This grant encourages and assists organisations, businesses, clubs  and associations (including sporting, cultural, recreation and special interest  groups) to stage their special event or festivals in Tasmania. Funding is  available to event organisers in Tasmania and across Australia.

Touring  Incentive

An  Events Tasmania grant that encourages state, interstate and international  touring groups, to host their touring events in Tasmania. These groups might  include car and motorcycle clubs, cycling groups, like minded enthusiasts and  other touring events.

Your Club Our  Island

An  Events Tasmania grant that encourages small event groups to visit  Tasmania. Applications are invited from any clubs, enthusiasts and special  interest event organisers in Tasmania, across Australia and from around the  world.

Climate Connect Community Grants

Two community grants programs are available through the Tasmanian Government to help communities work together to find and implement local solutions to the challenges of climate change.
