Eco Tips for Everyone

Ten easy ways for everyone to reduce their effect on climate change:

  1. Sign up for accredited green electricity (ask Aurora about their green wind power)
  2. Take public transport wherever possible or buy a smaller car
  3. Reduce your electricity use by installing energy efficient light bulbs and turning off the lights and appliances at the wall when not in use
  4. Reduce hot water heating by taking shorter showers and installing water saving shower heads
  5. Replace old washing machines and fridges with the best energy and water efficient models available
  6. Replace old hot water systems with solar systems
  7. Install a rainwater tank preferably plumbed internally, and plant drought tolerant plants in the garden
  8. Buy locally grown produce wherever possible
  9. Join a local environment or landcare group or donate money to an organisation looking after your local area
  10. Educate your children and friends on the importance of taking personnel action right now.
